Adult Social Care Lawyer Opportunity

Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector is seeking a qualified Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their team in Essex. As a permanent full-time position, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with office attendance required for 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications related to deputyships, welfare, and best interests, as well as deprivation of liberty and judicial review.
  • Provide detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Mental Health Act 1983, and associated Regulations and Statutory Guidance.
  • Offer legal advice and support across a range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16-17-year-old Deprivation of Liberty cases.
  • Advise Service Managers and Directors on Adult Social Care policy and procedure.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
  • Prior experience in Adult Social Care.
