Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor to join our team at Venn Group.
  • As a Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on social care matters to clients on behalf of the Council.
  • You will provide detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under various legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • You will also submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, s21a challenges, judicial review, and inherent jurisdiction.
  • You will provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16–17-year-old Deprivation of liberty cases.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with significant experience in providing legal advice on Adult Social Care.
  • Motivated to protect and defend vulnerable members of the community and make a meaningful impact.
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting is desirable but not essential.
