Job Description

Role Overview

The Venn Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solicitor to join our team as an Adult Social Care Lawyer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to clients on social care matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality legal advice to clients on social care matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Provide detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, s21a challenges, judicial review, and inherent jurisdiction.
  • Offer legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16–17-year-old Deprivation of liberty cases.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with significant experience in providing legal advice on Adult Social Care.
  • Motivated to protect and defend vulnerable members of the community and make a positive impact.
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting is desirable but not essential.
