Job Title: Senior Solicitor - Adult Social Care

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solicitor to join our Adult Social Care team. As a Senior Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on social care matters to clients on behalf of the Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality legal advice on social care matters, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Health and Social Care Act 2008.
  • Submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, and s21a challenges.
  • Provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection, and Freedom of Information.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with significant experience in providing legal advice on Adult Social Care.
  • Motivated to protect and defend vulnerable members of the community and make a positive impact.
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting is desirable but not essential.
