We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Avara Foods. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Working Hours:

40 hours per week, 05:30 to 18:00

About the Job:

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all quality checks are carried out to the correct standard and any non-conformances are reported immediately to the relevant Section and Quality Manager.

  • Product Quality QAS: Inspecting product against customer quality contract agreements
  • GMP Audits: Conducting audits against a scheduled frequency to ensure good manufacturing practice at site
  • Bone checks: Conducting regular checks on bone quality
  • Carbon Dioxide Verification / Pressure Test Verification: Verifying the accuracy of carbon dioxide levels and pressure tests
  • Product sampling against micro schedule / Hand and Glove swabbing against micro schedule: Conducting regular sampling and swabbing to ensure product quality
  • Temperature checks and verification: Verifying the accuracy of temperature readings
  • Test Panel start and end of life: Conducting regular checks on test panel start and end of life
  • Paperwork checks (traceability): Ensuring all paperwork is completed in full, in line with company procedures and legal requirements
  • Carry out verification checks of calibration of measuring equipment in accordance with the schedule: Verifying the accuracy of measuring equipment
  • Participate in HACCP teams where applicable: Participating in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) teams
  • Maintain filing of record documents and archiving: Maintaining accurate records and archiving documents
  • To be aware of and adhere to Health and Safety Procedures, encouraging safe working behaviours: Ensuring a safe working environment
  • Traceability – supporting the QA Process Leader in conducting Traceability in accordance with the scheduled frequency and as required: Supporting the QA Process Leader in conducting traceability
