About the Role

We are currently seeking an Automotive Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Barton Mills workshop. This position is vital for maintaining our fleet of ambulances, ensuring they are roadworthy and ready to assist patients in need.

Salary Information

This role includes a 15% Recruitment & Retention premium, with a salary range of £32,668 - £39,768.

Main Responsibilities

The Automotive Maintenance Technician will be responsible for:

  • Conducting repairs, scheduled maintenance, and servicing of vehicles in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensuring all maintenance and repair work meets safety and regulatory standards.
  • Diagnosing vehicle faults and determining necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Participating in a 24-hour breakdown service, which may require occasional call-outs.
  • Traveling to various locations to perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Completing all required documentation accurately and promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • C1 driving license or willingness to obtain one within six months.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Extensive experience in vehicle mechanical engineering.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a busy NHS maintenance environment.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as IRTE or IMI.
