About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineering Lead to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our Submarine programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders on Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Coach and mentor in Systems Engineering practices, ensuring the development and delivery of optimised systems.
  • Lead activities and supervise others as they tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project/programme of work.
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of optimised systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in a given domain and also absorb and process new domain knowledge quickly.
  • Work collaboratively across Engineering disciplines and other Functions to drive business growth and innovation.
Requirements
  • You are an experienced Engineer with a breadth of systems engineering knowledge and an understanding of the full engineering lifecycle.
  • You understand systems engineering approaches, processes and procedures, and have a sound basis in the science of engineering.
  • You are degree qualified or have equivalent experience in a science technology, engineering, or mathematics related discipline.
  • You have an awareness of the many disciplines that impact on system design, from the different branches of engineering through law, commerce, management, logistics and politics.
  • You are a member of appropriate professional institution and Chartered with them, or demonstrable working towards Chartership.
  • You can coach, mentor and assist others, and have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
