We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Chepstow Racecourse. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
- Manage and oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws.
- Manage and appraise staff with direct reports to ensure they are motivated, developed, and able to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and senior commercial team to contribute to the development of the business strategy.
- Oversee the financial management and reporting of race day functions, including pre-raceday forecasts and post-raceday results.
- Instigate and manage recovery plans to address underperformance.
- Take overall control of accounting systems and ensure they are robust, compliant, and effective.
- Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.
- Must hold a full driving license, with the ability to travel across multiple sites.
- Annual passes to attend any of our 21 venues.
