Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and technicians in creating project plans and setting technical objectives. The successful candidate will provide guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers and technicians, creating project plans and setting technical objectives.
- Provide strategic direction in projects.
- Ensure application and improvement of Advanced Manufacturing tools and processes globally.
- Quality execution of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering tasks as defined on the project timeline.
- Provide manufacturing engineering expertise to product innovation process to build manufacturability into new product design.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage on-site manufacturing engineering improvements, including stimulating continuous improvement processes in plants.
- Work with cross-functional teams to complete product launches.
- Monitor assembly equipment through development and production startup.
- Stimulate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in new projects.
- Ensure that process metrics and compliance reports are accurate and up-to-date.
- Monitor and audit adaptation of manufacturing best practices and standards in the plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent experience.
- Proven high-level experience in a manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering role with managerial experience.
- OEM or Tier One automotive seating or interior trim work experience is essential.
- High volume automotive manufacturing engineering work experience is desired.
- Project management experience is essential.
- Budgeting and cost control experience is essential.
- Engineering management and strategic planning experience is essential.
- Lean manufacturing experience is desired.
- Strong IT and manufacturing skills are required.
- Previous launch experience is essential.
- Plant layout using CAD software is required.
- Equipment selection, purchasing, and installation experience is desired.
