Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is partnering with a public services organisation to find a skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide senior management with a forecast of the organisation's cash flow, profit and loss. Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial management and reporting of business areas costs
  • Supporting stakeholders across the division on expenditure, budgeting, budget applications, forecasting, and reporting of costs
  • Collating and producing month-end journals for accruals, balance sheet reconciliation, staff recharges, and summary utilisation reports
  • Providing quarterly billing and reconciliation of project spends, producing invoices, and project spend reports
  • Monitoring costs to ensure they are within budget
  • Providing detailed analysis and commentary on business area and division results
  • Managing the cash flow forecast
  • Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Finalist or newly qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA or ACCA)
  • Experience of Workday (preferable)
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes
  • Proficient with Excel and financial modelling
