About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Specialist to join our team at Islington Council. As a key member of our Internal Communications team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and promoting the work of our Evidence and Insight team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective internal communications strategies to engage and inform council staff about the work of the Evidence and Insight team and its benefits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including council staff, residents, and local community groups.
  • Design and deliver creative and eye-catching internal communications to promote the work of the Evidence and Insight team and its impact on council services.
  • Develop a process for gathering testimonials and communications case studies for internal and external use.
  • Support the development of external communications for the council's website and quarterly residents' newspaper.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in delivering effective communications and an understanding of the challenges facing councils and working in a political environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with regular travel to the office base at 222 Upper Street, Islington.
