About the Apprenticeship

This is a Level 4 digital apprenticeship with the Department of Work & Pensions, focusing on developing future leaders and experts in DevOps. As an apprentice DevOps Engineer, you will be hands-on with the design, development, and maintenance of real-world digital solutions that will be used by people across the UK.

You will be supported by your line manager, skills coach, and the engineering community, as well as fellow apprentices on the programme. This will provide you with a network of encouragement to help you succeed. It is essential that you can be proactive and make the most out of your time on the apprenticeship.

You do not need any prior experience or IT qualifications to apply.

Requirements
  • Completing a coding course and challenge within a specified timeframe.
  • Interviews with Makers Academy will be held, followed by final interviews with DWP Digital.
  • Entry Requirements:
    • You hold a current United Kingdom (UK) or EAA Passport, and NI number.
    • You're eligible to work in the UK and are not in full-time education (at the time the apprenticeship starts).
    • Either hold GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or you can complete and pass a functional skills test if you don't have these GCSEs.
