Electrical Test and Inspection Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Test and Inspection Engineer to join our team at HMP Standford Hill, a category D men's prison. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison's electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out electrical testing and inspection to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements
  • Identify and report any electrical defects or hazards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and repair electrical systems
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
Requirements:
  • At least five years' experience working as an electrician
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
  • C&G Electrical inspection and testing
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
