About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at HMP Standford Hill, a category D men's prison. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety and security of the prison and its occupants.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to resolve maintenance issues and ensure minimal disruption to prison operations.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of electrical systems and equipment to provide expert advice and guidance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least five years' experience working as an electrician.
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
  • Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and C&G Electrical inspection and testing qualifications.
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
