Role Overview
As an Assistant Vice President in Strategic Consultancy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to assist senior leadership in formulating effective strategies that address the most critical business challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver strategic counsel to senior executives, facilitating informed decision-making on business challenges and opportunities.
  2. Design and execute strategic advisory initiatives aimed at enhancing and optimizing the bank's operations through comprehensive market analysis.
  3. Engage with diverse stakeholder groups to determine the most suitable strategic approaches that align with the needs of Barclays' clients and investors.
  4. Create financial models to underpin strategic recommendations and transactions, utilizing financial data analysis to assess the implications of various transactions.
  5. Oversee transaction management, including negotiations, structuring, and post-transaction integration processes.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to nurture client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  7. Monitor industry trends and maintain peer benchmarking by participating in conferences, training sessions, and conducting market research.

Expectations for the Assistant Vice President

  1. Provide consultation on complex matters, offering guidance to leadership to resolve escalated issues.
  2. Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop new policies and procedures to support governance objectives.
  3. Assume responsibility for managing risks and enhancing controls related to your work.
  4. Engage in collaborative efforts across various functions to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  5. Conduct in-depth analysis of data from multiple sources to creatively and effectively solve problems.
  6. Communicate intricate information clearly, ensuring it is understandable to diverse audiences.
