Job Description

**Job Title:** Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

**Job Type:** Full-time, Permanent

**Location:** Remote (with occasional on-site visits)

**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a KS2 classroom.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support students to make good academic progress under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
  • Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support students who have emotional or social barriers to learning
  • Establish constructive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students
  • Provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher

**Support for Teachers:**

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of students' work
  • Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support students to achieve learning goals
  • Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will be
  • Monitor students' responses to learning activities and accurately record and feedback to the teacher as directed

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

  • An honours degree in psychology (preferably Upper Second) or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability
