The Business Analysis team, located across our Colchester and York offices, is a dedicated group committed to enhancing the Business Analysis capabilities at Hiscox UK.
About You
You will be a seasoned Business Analyst with a strong business acumen and a collaborative spirit. You enjoy engaging with Business Sponsors, Project Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Technical BAs, Engineers, and other key stakeholders to plan and execute analytical activities that yield valuable results for the organization.
This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects and value streams within our UK Change portfolio, providing you with extensive insights into the operational dynamics of the UK business, from frontline activities to back-office functions and the technology that underpins our exceptional customer service.
Our projects may focus on process enhancements, integration of new initiatives, or compliance with regulatory standards. The outcomes can range from large-scale system implementations and upgrades to smaller, tactical solutions that create new business opportunities.
When not working remotely, this position can be based in either York or Colchester.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of user journeys and processes, along with their supporting technologies.
- Effectively elicit, challenge, and document project scope, processes, and requirements while guiding end users through the change process.
- Create high-quality business and technical analysis deliverables, including user stories, functional and non-functional specifications, and process models.
- Ensure traceability of requirements and user stories throughout the entire change lifecycle.
- Apply best practices in Business Analysis to encourage the business to consider optimal solutions.
- Build trust and relationships with senior stakeholders, understanding their goals and desired outcomes while engaging them throughout the process.
- Maintain close collaboration with Project Management, PMO, Product Managers, and IT colleagues.
- Collaborate with fellow BAs to implement continuous improvements in our Business Analysis practices.
Essential Qualifications
- Ensure project outcomes align with the strategic goals of the business.
- Demonstrate a results-driven mindset, with the energy and determination to thrive in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness is crucial.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Financial Services or insurance sector.
- Experience working within a globally distributed team.
- BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or an equivalent qualification.
