About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team in Northampton. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and reconcile client and office accounts, ensuring all transactions are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Produce invoices and bills, including individual and multi-matter bulk bills, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist in the processing and input of information from spreadsheets for bill production.
  • Action K2 bills and queries, and respond to accounting queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Post fees and other charges daily, and liaise with other cashiering staff regarding dependent transactions.
  • Carry out transfers, such as client to client, matter to matter, client to bill, and disbursement to disbursements, in accordance with Shoosmiths policies.

  • Positive attitude with a can-do approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good level of IT literacy, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain high standards.
