Community Engagement Connector for Wellbeing Initiatives

Devon, United Kingdom Devon County Council Full time

Reporting to: Community Connections Lead

Contract Duration: Until 31st March 2025 (with potential for extension based on funding availability).

Project Overview
CoLab has taken on the role of Programme Manager for Wellbeing Exeter and Cranbrook, providing and managing the Community Connector and Coordination team based in Exeter. We are currently in search of two additional Community Connectors to enhance our team.

We are committed to our core values of inclusivity, empathy, and teamwork. We seek individuals who excel in communication and can engage effectively with diverse individuals in a friendly, professional, and inclusive manner.

Position Overview & Primary Responsibilities

Community Connector - Community Focused
We are looking for a Community Connector who will operate within the community. This role involves collaborating with WBEC Community Builders and Community Physical Activity Organisers throughout Exeter to manage new referrals, identify community settings where a Connector's involvement is advantageous, and explore collaborative opportunities with CoLab partners. In addition to managing a caseload, you will work one-on-one with individuals, adopting a person-centred approach to connect them with resources that enhance their overall wellbeing.

Community Connector - Welcoming Role
We are seeking a Community Connector responsible for warmly welcoming new referrals via phone to Wellbeing Exeter and Cranbrook. This role includes managing the referral process, entering data into Charity Log, assessing the needs of referred individuals, and signposting them to appropriate services. You will also be responsible for regularly updating information on services and activities in Exeter, fostering relationships with referrers and service providers, and maintaining the WBEC live directory of information. Alongside a small caseload, you will engage with individuals on a one-to-one basis, providing a person-centred approach to connect them with what matters most to them and support their overall wellbeing.

CoLab Exeter is dedicated to fostering a positive approach to equality, diversity, and inclusion, recognizing the value of a diverse workforce.
