About the Role

Selwood is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to support the Group in delivering high-quality financial reporting and insights to the Senior Management Team and the Board.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing key weekly and monthly reporting, including weekly revenue, monthly forecast and actual reports, and KPI reporting to the Senior Management Team.
  • Supporting the maintenance and consolidation of the monthly forecast and actual results using the main financial consolidation model and evolving it as necessary.
  • Supporting the maintenance and consolidation of the annual plan and associated reports, while generating new reports as required on request.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly results, identifying trends, and highlighting significant variances against the Business Unit/Group plans and prior forecasts.
  • Assisting in developing and reporting on current and new KPIs on a monthly and quarterly basis and investigating any significant variances to report back to management.
  • Assisting with new business cases using best practice to ensure their viability against financial measures, including Return on Assets, ROCE, IRR, Cashflow, Interest Cover, and Leverage, making comments and recommendations on the findings.
  • In line with monthly reporting schedules, taking accountability for reviewing results against plan in terms of performance and capital expenditure to ensure these are favorable. If findings are adverse, liaising with the associated budget owners to review, seek explanations, and reasoning to feed back.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, or FP&A position.
  • Part-qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience.
  • Aptitude for studying if not qualified/part-qualified, as there are opportunities for growth and progression within the team and group.
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to analyze and manipulate data on Excel, using some advanced features.
  • Previous experience of Dynamics, Navision, or Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to undertake a range of financial and business modeling tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in using initiative to resolve issues and queries, as and when they arise, and be confident and curious to find your own answers as needed.
  • Attention to detail is critical to success in this role.
  • Ability to produce accurate reports to specific deadlines.
  • Ability to act proactively/forward-thinking while maintaining a methodical, attention-to-detail approach.
  • Flexibility to support the business to get the job done, understanding the requirements of all stakeholders.
