Associate Pastor

We are seeking a dedicated Anglican priest to lead ministry across Mid Canterbury, working closely with the Archdeacon to refresh Anglican ministry and mission. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for the provision and development of ministry and mission in the parishes of Methven, Rakaia, and Mayfield-Mount Somers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Archdeacon and key lay people to facilitate the Vision for Mid Canterbury.
2. Develop and implement effective ministry and mission strategies in the parishes of Methven, Rakaia, and Mayfield-Mount Somers.
3. Work collaboratively with ordained and lay ministers to provide presiding, preaching, and pastoral care.
4. Prepare the Archdeaconry for the future by equipping the Church to grow in numbers, spiritual commitment, and service to the community.
5. Ensure the provision of relevant patterns of worship, spiritual refreshment, and outreach.
6. Establish training and study opportunities for all interested.
7. Coordinate the churches' response to local needs and opportunities.
8. Effect workable governance of the rural congregations and churches.

Requirements:

Applicants must be Anglican priests currently in good standing with their present bishop in the Anglican Communion, who already have the right to work in New Zealand and are willing to undertake Police vetting.
