Job Title: Attendance Officer

We are seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join our team at Aspire People Limited. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school's attendance system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input attendance data and investigate any missing data, maintaining accurate attendance records, including Covid-related absences and unexplained lesson absences.
  • Ensure the electronic registration system is updated daily, investigating any missing data with class teachers.
  • Record student absences and late arrivals on SIMS, maintaining accurate attendance records.
  • Make initial enquiries with parents/carers regarding unexplained absences/lateness, including first-day calling.
  • Monitor the attendance of students, referring concerns to the Pastoral Leaders.
  • Promote good attendance within the school.
  • Process and action student holiday requests.
  • Issue routine correspondence to parents/carers regarding attendance/absence requests in accordance with the school procedure.
  • Assist the Assistant Headteacher's with the administration of referrals to the education welfare service/issuing of penalty notices.
  • Undertake routine liaison with external agencies regarding attendance, e.g. EWO/Attendance Services.
  • Collate attendance data, producing routine reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience in attendance administration or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of SIMS and electronic registration systems.
