We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Care Practitioner to join our team at A24Group Medical Staffing Agencies. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality perioperative support to our service users.
Key Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with orthopaedic surgeons and nursing teams to provide surgical interventions using advanced skills and expert knowledge.
- Act as first or second assistant in specialist fields of orthopaedic surgery.
- Liaise with orthopaedic nursing teams and other professionals pre and post-operatively.
- Prescribe medications using expertise and evidence-based practice once Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is attained.
- Prepare discharge letters, prescriptions, and post-op advice for elective surgery on base wards and day case.
- Highly developed physical skills to be able to perform as first or second assistant in lower limb surgery.
- Responsibility for service development in specialist fields.
- Ability to provide specialist education and training to nursing and junior medical staff.
- Competency to assess and initiate appropriate management pathways for simple lacerations, simple finger ligament injuries, and fractures under supervision.
