Contract Overview:
A temporary position with a focus on finance within a local authority setting.

Role Summary:
This position requires experience in Adult Social Care. The primary responsibility is to implement the business partnering function for the designated service area. This role is crucial in delivering strategic support and financial guidance across the council.

The individual will collaborate with service leadership teams to constructively challenge and support service plans and project execution while managing and reporting on operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide proactive financial advice and support, particularly regarding revenue and capital monitoring, budget setting, and account closure processes.
2. Ensure financial information is relevant and presented to decision-makers at the appropriate level.
3. Utilize financial data analytics to enhance budget monitoring and long-term financial planning.
4. Engage with services to ensure the accuracy of information entered into systems and respond appropriately to system outputs.
5. Spend time within the designated service area to gain a comprehensive understanding of its operations and needs.
6. Facilitate financial management training for managers to ensure compliance with financial regulations and approval processes.
7. Continuously assess and report on financial risks and opportunities, advising on mitigation strategies and potential benefits.

Essential Experience:
Experience in accounting and budgeting, with a solid understanding of local government finance frameworks and statutory requirements. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to present financial information effectively to diverse audiences.

Qualifications:
A qualified CCAB Accountant or equivalent finance qualification is required, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Team Leadership:
The role involves managing a team, providing guidance and support in line with organizational policies.
