Job Title: Senior Support Outreach Worker

Join Mind in Mid Herts, a leading mental health charity, as a Senior Support Outreach Worker. We are seeking an experienced professional to develop and implement outreach services in the Harpenden, Wheathampstead, and Redbourn area.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement outreach services in the Harpenden, Wheathampstead, and Redbourn area.
  • Work closely with the team to identify needs and resources for people with mental health concerns.
  • Challenge stigma and provide training and support to individuals and groups.
  • Manage own workload, prioritizing tasks and working on own initiative.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with MiMH's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and facilitate support groups in the Harpenden area.
  • Establish regular drop-ins at local foodbank centres.
  • Offer telephone and email support to people accessing the service.
  • Support people to access community groups and maintain their independence.
  • Undertake any other necessary duties to ensure the smooth and successful development of the outreach project.
Requirements
  • A professional qualification or equivalent degree related to health and social care.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs.
  • Knowledge of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care.
  • Ability to deliver short-term task-oriented interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
