Job Title: Head of Engineering

Stone Executive is seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our engineering team and overseeing the safe operation and maintenance of our port infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure operational excellence and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies to ensure the short, medium, and long-term plans are set and met.
  • Manage engineering budgets and resources to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, operations directors, and harbour masters.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities are managed in line with the port's processes and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Commercially astute with good understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Proven project management experience with budgets over £1m.
  • Strong decision-making skills with self-awareness of limitations.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and critically evaluate solutions.
Desirable:
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as 6 sigma.
