Patient Environment Services Supervisor

The Patient Environment Services Supervisor will oversee a team of staff in delivering high-quality and efficient comprehensive portering, domestic cleaning, and site services at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. The post holder will ensure that services are provided in line with National Cleaning Standards, departmental Standing Operational Procedures, and Trust Policies.
Main Responsibilities- Supervise and support a team of Patient Environment Service Assistants and Domestic Assistants
- Carry out administration duties, including team appraisals and return-to-work meetings
- Prioritize workload and staff allocation to ensure a quality and efficient service
- Arrange duty rotas and plan holiday requests, covering sickness and working within financial constraints
- Ensure correct usage of approved cleaning materials and review work schedules to ensure compliance with national cleanliness standards and Trust operational policies
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust operates from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital. We also provide community healthcare services from various premises. Our hospitals offer a range of general hospital services, including emergency departments, critical care units, and consultant-led services.
Requirements- Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent experience or BICS qualification in cleaning sciences
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience of supervising a team in a busy environment
- Experience working with computers and IT-based systems
- Ability to travel between Trust sites as required
- Flexibility in approach to work patterns
