About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Patient Environment Services Supervisor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of staff in providing high-quality and efficient comprehensive portering, domestic cleaning, and site services at our University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of Patient Environment Service Assistants and Domestic Assistants to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Carry out administration duties, including team appraisals, return to work sickness meetings, and review meetings.
  • Prioritize workload and staff location to provide a quality and efficient service.
  • Arrange duty rotas, plan and allocate holiday requests, and cover sickness.
  • Ensure correct usage of approved cleaning materials and review work schedules to ensure compliance with national cleanliness standards and Trust operational policies.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust operates from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital. We also provide a range of community healthcare services across Morecambe Bay.

Requirements
  • Relevant related NVQ 2 or equivalent experience or British Institute Cleaning Science (BICS) qualification in cleaning sciences.
  • Demonstrate a period of leading a team within a busy environment, with relevant supervisory experience and experience working with computers and IT-based systems.
  • Knowledge of cleaning in a large setting or healthcare establishment, medical gas handling, customer care, and acute hospital environment.
  • Ability to deal with information sensitively and confidentially, communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, and demonstrate leadership skills.
