Role Objective

In this exciting new position, we will depend on you to be innovative and provide effective operational leadership for a small completions team. This will encompass overseeing loan documentation, due diligence, and payment processes (including facility documentation and securing collateral) to ensure loans are processed swiftly and accurately.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this role is the chance to build and lead a small team while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance our customer and broker experiences.

In this role, you will be responsible for...

  • Overseeing the daily loan due diligence process and tasks such as preparing loan offer documentation and coordinating property valuations, independent monitoring surveyor (QS) reports, and other specialized property due diligence reports.
  • Engaging, appointing, and collaborating with legal panel firms to ensure the precise and timely completion of loan and security documentation.
  • Managing loan disbursement and payment processes to guarantee that facility disbursements and incoming payments are executed promptly and accurately.
  • Developing and maintaining loan completion and relevant post-completion processes and systems.
  • Optimizing workflows to make the best use of resources and proactively adapt to changes.
  • Fostering a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement, ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards, processes, and policies.
  • Building strong relationships to become a valued team member and providing proactive support to both first-line relationship management, financial crime, and credit underwriting teams to ensure the loan completion process operates smoothly.
  • Acting fairly and responsibly in line with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and responsible lending principles in all interactions with customers, brokers, and third-party service providers.
  • Coaching and mentoring a team to achieve high performance levels.
  • Executing legal documents under Power of Attorney.

About You – You are/have most of the following:

  • Experience with the complete commercial lending application lifecycle, from application to decision through to completion, servicing, and post-completion activities.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of SME legal and valuation due diligence processes along with broader commercial risk considerations.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of SME loan disbursement and payment procedures.
  • Skilled at leading a high-performing team, capable of coaching others to reach their full potential.
  • Driven by quality and efficiency, with a strong desire to exceed expectations.
  • Proactive and positively infectious – you build relationships by genuinely understanding what people need and fulfilling your commitments.
