Reporting to the Home Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of food service within the facility, ensuring a high-quality dining experience that adheres to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Leading and supervising the culinary team while managing their performance effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards.
  • Managing kitchen inventory, equipment, and resources within budgetary constraints.

Essential knowledge & experience:

  • Possession of an intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certification from Cater craft or a comparable organization.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols, including the management of hazardous substances (COSHH) and food safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in culinary and personnel management.
  • Basic understanding of dietary needs for elderly individuals and how food types can affect medication.
  • Proficient in the safe operation of kitchen tools and equipment.

Required skills:

  • Capable of negotiating, influencing, organizing time, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment and prepare meals according to established menus.
  • Flexible, innovative, and capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
  • Basic computer literacy.
