About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Manager to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the maintenance and repair of critical building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that routine preventive maintenance is carried out on all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of sub-contractors, ensuring that they perform to the required standards.
  • Administer the Permit to Work System, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completion of shift reports and updates to the Computer Based Maintenance system.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all members of the BGIS team, sub-contractors, and clients.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
  • Ensure that all plant rooms are locked and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of engineers, ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Proactively identify and report any near misses, dynamic risk assessments, and detailed records of site activities.
  • Overview the building's environmental conditions using the Building Management System (BMS) and utilize same to maintain acceptable internal conditions.

Accountabilities

  • Reporting to the Contract Supervisor or Technical Manager.
  • Working collaboratively as part of the team.
  • Indirect reporting lines to the Contract Manager.
  • The post holder may have directly reporting staff, including Shift Technicians or day staff.
