Sellick Partnership Limited - Private Practice is seeking a highly skilled Employment Lawyer/Senior Lawyer to join their team in Manchester City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a national Chambers and Legal 500 ranked firm.

The successful candidate will be part of a leading employment team in the North, providing expert advice and representation to clients across various sectors, including retail, sport, manufacturing, financial services, industrial services, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employment Tribunal Preparation: Prepare for employment tribunal cases, including preparation of Claim/Response, Employment Tribunal Applications, and other relevant documents.
  • Advocacy: Represent clients in employment tribunals, providing expert advocacy services.
  • Support to HR Teams: Provide day-to-day support to HR teams as an integral member of the client's service delivery team.
  • HR Project Work: Assist with HR project work, including restructurings, redundancies, and TUPE.
  • Correspondence and Advice: Draft correspondence to the Employment Tribunal, opposing solicitors, witnesses, ACAS, and clients, providing general advice on employment law matters.
  • General Advice: Provide general advice on employment law matters, including conduct of disciplinary investigations, grievance procedures, redundancy programs, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Corporate Support: Provide corporate support to clients, including advice on employment law matters related to corporate transactions.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law work.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness and ability to provide strategic advice.
  • Academic and Training Record: First-class academic and excellent training record.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Drive and Motivation: Drive, commitment, and self-motivation, with a willingness to accept new challenges.
