Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Central London Community Health Trust's Tissue Viability team for a motivated healthcare professional with an interest in wound care to join our expanding team.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Tissue Viability nurse to provide tissue viability care, advice, support, education, and training to patients and carers on knowledge of relevant evidence, current research, good practice guidelines, and tissue viability policies within CLCH.

The post holder will be expected to rotate across a number of clinic services, including wound clinic and leg ulcer clinic, while also supporting with home visits.

Person Specification

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) or a recognised equivalent course
  • Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate

Desirable

  • GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • ECDL certificate
  • Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of databases
  • Experience of complex wound management in community

Desirable

  • Experience ordering and monitoring stock

Skills & Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrate an acceptable level of numeracy and literacy
  • An awareness of risk management
  • Knowledge of multi-agency services available and processes for referral
  • Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and wellbeing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
  • Self-management skills-managing time and workload
  • Ability to work in a team and to supervise the work of others
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and record data in a clear, and succinct manner
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • To be able to promote the work of the team across the trust
