Transport Planner Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our Highways, Transport & Design service at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation in our borough.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and innovative organisation, driving forward transport solutions in Stockton-on-Tees. You will be part of a diverse and rewarding team, helping to deliver transformational change to transport choices in our borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transport plans and strategies to improve mobility and accessibility in Stockton-on-Tees.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including Tees Valley Combined Authority and other partners, to deliver transport schemes that meet the needs of residents and visitors.
  • Manage projects and partnerships to drive forward transport solutions, using your expertise in project management and partnership working.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent support and a welcoming team environment.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in or with public sector organisations.
  • Good knowledge of the principles of project, contract and procurement management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • A strong track record of decision making and working to deadlines.
  • Effective budget and financial planning skills.
