About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Playworker to join our team at Family Link Charity. As a Playworker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and stimulating environment for young people with complex disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to the individual needs of our young participants.
  • Work closely with the Play Leader to ensure a positive and enjoyable atmosphere is maintained at all times.
  • Provide personal care and support to young people as needed, including assistance with meals, dressing, and personal care.
  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in our young participants, promoting opportunities for personal growth and development.
  • Maintain open and positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, aligning with Family Link's policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our young participants are prioritized at all times.
  • Report to the Play Leader and undertake additional duties as required.
Essential Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people with disabilities or a strong interest in this sector.
Desirable Skills
  • Relevant childcare qualification, such as NVQ2 or equivalent, and current First Aid certification.

Our staff are highly trained to support young people's care and health needs. We offer a range of activities and outings, including external entertainers, day trips, and social events, to promote positive lifelong relationships, social skills, and confidence. Our mission is to provide leisure opportunities for children and young people with disabilities in a safe and fun environment.
