Role Overview

Position Summary

As a Procurement Business Partner, you will lead transformative procurement initiatives that ensure compliance, deliver value, and prioritize resident needs. Your expertise in managing end-to-end procurement processes for various categories will be essential. You will act as a supportive advisor throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As a seasoned procurement professional, your responsibilities will include:

  • High-Value Procurements: Oversee complex procurements ranging from £200,000 to £25,000,000, ensuring compliance with legislation from initial planning to contract execution.
  • Mid-Value Procurements: Manage procurements exceeding £25,000, guiding teams through the process while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Low-Value Procurements: Provide support for procurements under £25,000, offering continuous advice to teams.
  • Strategic Development: Assist in crafting and implementing procurement strategies across all operations.
  • Market Engagement: Conduct thorough market research and engage with suppliers to foster innovation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with residents, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and third parties to ensure effective risk management.
  • Procurement Pipeline Management: Maintain and update the strategic procurement pipeline.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Identify and address compliance issues and risks proactively.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Educational Background: A degree in procurement, finance, business, or a related field, along with progress towards CIPS Level 6 or MCIPS.
  • Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of public sector procurement and familiarity with the Procurement Act 2024, with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Contract Management Skills: Proficiency in managing contracts and enhancing supplier performance.
  • Diverse Procurement Experience: Experience across various procurement categories, including facilities, repairs, and development.
  • Technical Proficiency: High-level knowledge of e-procurement systems and P2P platforms.
