Maintenance Engineer - Manufacturing & Engineering - Blackburn

Due to expansion, our client is seeking multiple maintenance engineers to work as part of the engineering FMCG manufacturing team to provide effective and efficient mechanical and electrical support throughout the factory. Tasks will involve reactive support in the factory, continuous improvement projects planned through the maintenance system, and planned maintenance tasks. The role will be working with a wide range of complex automated cooking processes and packaging equipment.

Maintenance Engineer - The Role
  • Experience of FMCG operations
  • Relevant engineering qualification
  • Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry
  • PC Literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems)
  • Able to strip machines in full and reassemble them, as well as completing machine size change procedures and their adjustments
Maintenance Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Carrying out engineering activities
  • Minimizing engineering downtime
  • Maintaining GMP and safety standards within the Engineering Department
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance of engineering processes within the team
  • Ensuring the highest engineering audit standards at all times
  • Ensuring engineering skills and knowledge are maintained at the highest level
  • Planning and monitoring machine performance
  • Working with the Planning Department to negotiate machine availability
  • Monitoring failure
  • Supporting external contractors
  • Providing technical support for production when required
  • Maintaining the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy

Salary up to £45,000
4 on 4 off (2 days & 2 nights)
NO SATURDAY NIGHTS - DAY SHIFT 6-2 ONLY
