Job Title: Children and Young People Engagement Officer

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Young People Engagement Officer to join our team in a lively and supportive SEN school in Wythenshawe, Manchester.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, providing SEN support and community outreach services. As a Children and Young People Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for taking attendance, liaising with parents, and conducting support work in the community.

You will need to be confident in behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies to manage the young people's behaviour and help them engage with the curriculum. All the young people you will be working with will have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) which you will be able to refer to.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take attendance and liaise with parents regarding absences
  2. Conduct support work in the community, including liaison with social services and other parties
  3. Manage the young people's behaviour and help them engage with the curriculum
  4. Refer to Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) as necessary
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  1. Hold a Right to Work in the UK
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  3. Provide two professional child-related references
  4. Have a full, clean UK Driver's License and access to your own car
