Role Summary

The Systems Performance team is tasked with the comprehensive definition of performance systems:

Responsibilities include:

  • Defining system architecture, calibration needs, and control system specifications.
  • Conducting detailed technical evaluations and developing control systems through simulation and analytical methodologies.
  • Ensuring product quality, compliance with emissions standards, and final product approval.

The team leads the performance development cycle for engine systems, from the selection of new technology concepts to the development of innovative products, while also providing support for existing offerings. A significant aspect of this role involves integrating our solutions into client applications.

Key Responsibilities:

The Systems Performance Specialist will concentrate on the advancement of our current and future product lines, collaborating with a team of skilled engineers. The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical skills and technical expertise to make informed decisions that enhance product quality and ensure compliance with emissions regulations.

This role requires active participation in a multidisciplinary team, working closely with partners in Systems, Components, Performance, and Electronics to deliver exceptional products.

Proficient Knowledge:

  • Effectively communicates with a diverse team, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon.
  • Delivers presentations and prepares reports to document project outcomes.

Problem-Solving Expertise

Extensive Experience:

  • Applies structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Pareto analysis, fishbone diagrams) to address challenges.
  • Contributes to the establishment of best practices for problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Ensures that lessons learned from problem-solving efforts are documented.
  • Develops effective solutions to critical or high-impact issues.

Technical Proficiency

Proficient Knowledge:

• Familiarity with:

  1. Engine and/or Aftertreatment performance development.
  2. Engine/powertrain control systems.
  3. 0D/1D simulation tools for system design and optimization.
  4. Matlab/Simulink.

• Provides sound technical solutions to routine challenges through established technical competence.

• Drives system-level trade-offs and offers technical recommendations to inform business decisions, ideally utilizing simulation tools and processes.

• Knowledgeable in control system development and optimization through simulation and data analysis.

• Effectively executes technical responsibilities while staying current with industry best practices and processes.
