Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Highways Engineer to join our team at Calibre Search. As a key member of our National Highways team, you will be responsible for managing technical aspects of larger projects, meeting financial, quality, and timeframe objectives, and exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: You will be responsible for managing the delivery of elements of larger projects in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets.
  • Technical Leadership: You will provide technical advice to team members, support them in their delivery on the project, and contribute to their professional development.
  • Team Management: You will oversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a project team, including sub-contractors, ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized.
  • Performance Management: You will manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
  • Design and Development: You will develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by the consultancy, of the client's business, and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry.
Key Qualifications
  • Education: You will have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: You will have relevant experience, including supervision of elements of large, complex projects.
