About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Refugee Resettlement Specialist to join our team at New Start. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting the integration and future resettlement of refugees into UK society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments of service user needs to identify and allocate suitable accommodation within the New Roots scheme.
  • Develop and implement service plans to map out immediate support actions requiring intensive assistance.
  • Provide intensive support to service users, focusing on benefit assistance, registration with Universal Job match, seeking an ESOL course, registration with GP & Dental services, and advocacy.
  • Work with service users to develop a Personal Integration Plan, including temporary settlement and future resettlement, depending on their preferred local authority.
  • Assist service users in seeking volunteering opportunities, training, and work-related learning experiences to enhance future employment options.
  • Provide specialist advice on housing options and welfare rights to highly vulnerable or complex needs service users.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure delivery of services to refugees, including employment, health, housing, welfare, money management, and education.
  • Support service users with Family Reunion and Travel Document applications, as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery through good casework management and recording.
  • Document and record statistics using relevant databases to collect outcomes of service.
  • Provide briefing sessions to groups of service users, as required.
  • Offer advice and information to service users in their first language, using interpreters and adhering to good practice standards.
  • Manage and maintain service user files, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed to the highest standards.
  • Initiate and carry out regular case reviews to ensure refugees are on the right path to achieve their potential.
  • Report back on key performance indicators to the Project Manager.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar post supporting asylum seekers and/or refugees.
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to accurately record information for case notes and support planning.
  • Positive time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and coordinate time effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, for regular travel to tenants' properties across Liverpool.
