Key Responsibilities:- Procurement Service Delivery: Provide a customer-focused procurement service to all Faculties and Professional Services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Procurement Guidance: Offer expert guidance on complex procurement matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal procedures, and supporting staff in making informed procurement decisions.
- Procurement Planning: Lead the preparation of procurement plans, tenders, and contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices, ensuring value for money and excellent service delivery.
- Procurement Data Analysis: Analyse procurement data to make informed recommendations and support decision-making, ensuring data-driven procurement strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure legal compliance, particularly with Public Sector Procurement Legislation, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers, stakeholders, and consortia, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Essential: Degree or relevant experience, with evidence of continuing professional development in procurement (e.g., CIPS membership), and previous experience in a procurement environment, particularly with public sector tendering and contract management.
- Desirable: Experience with paperless procurement systems and tools, such as In-Tend and Business World, and knowledge of current issues in higher education.
