Senior Structural Engineering Leader

A prominent Engineering Consultancy is seeking to appoint a Chartered Senior Structural Engineering Leader with a minimum of 10 years' experience in Structural Design to enhance their existing team focused on a variety of Industrial and Rail initiatives.
This organization operates across multiple regions and is particularly interested in integrating a new member into their Manchester team, which consists of 6 professionals. The role involves engaging in both new construction and refurbishment projects related to civil infrastructure, as well as participating in fatigue analysis, temporary works, and conventional structural design.
Professional Credentials:
Must possess a recognized professional engineering license.
Experience in Structural Engineering:
A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in structural engineering is required, with an emphasis on executing projects of diverse complexity and scale.
Expertise in Structural Design:
Must demonstrate a high level of skill in structural analysis, design, and detailing across various building types and materials, including steel, concrete, and timber.
Project Leadership:
Should exhibit strong project management skills, including the capability to lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee project budgets and timelines, and ensure successful project outcomes.
Technical Skills:
A comprehensive understanding of relevant engineering software and tools, such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and AutoCAD, is essential for effective analysis and design of structural systems.
Compliance with Regulations:
Must remain updated on current building codes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that all structural designs adhere to applicable requirements and guidelines.
Effective Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to convey complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Leadership Qualities:
Should demonstrate leadership capabilities, including mentoring and coaching junior engineers, providing technical direction, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required to identify structural challenges, propose innovative solutions, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Commitment to ongoing professional development is essential, with a focus on staying informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering.
The compensation for this position will range between £60,000 and £68,000, with the exact salary being contingent upon experience and the candidate's ability to fulfill the role's requirements.
