Role Responsibilities

This position is tailored for a committed individual eager to manage and refine production workflows while guiding a team of adept production and engineering professionals.

The successful candidate will be engaged in a structured work schedule, averaging 42 hours weekly, adhering to a 4-on, 4-off shift rotation.

Shifts will span 12 hours, alternating between two daytime shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and two nighttime shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Key Duties

As the Night Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and effective functioning of the manufacturing facility.

  • Overseeing personnel, processes, and machinery to achieve production objectives while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
  • Conducting performance evaluations, managing recruitment, and facilitating the training and development of team members.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Strategically planning and prioritizing tasks to optimize resource utilization.
  • Achieving production goals and managing financial budgets.
  • Leading initiatives aimed at minimizing waste and enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Encouraging effective communication within the team and across different shifts.
  • Building robust relationships with support teams, including Hygiene, Quality, Supply Chain, Health & Safety, and HR.
  • Identifying and addressing production, operator, and equipment challenges.
  • Conducting root cause analyses and implementing viable solutions.
  • Making informed decisions regarding equipment maintenance and production halts when necessary.
Collaboration and Interaction

Daily interactions will occur with the Manufacturing Manager, Team Managers, Engineering Managers, Quality Assurance, and Technical teams.

Regular engagement with Operators, Engineering Team Members, the Supply Chain/Planning Team, HR Department, and Trade Union representatives as required.

Qualifications

Leadership and personnel management experience is essential.

  • Experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or food manufacturing, shift work, and unionized environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with production planning, logistics, and financial management within a factory setting is advantageous.
  • Understanding of quality management systems, food safety regulations, and occupational safety standards is beneficial.
