Fledglings Child Care is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our 2-bedded home in the central Manchester region. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for managing the home's resources to provide a positive living experience for the resident children.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the home's day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for the children and staff.
- Supervise and develop a team of senior residential social workers, residential care workers, and other support staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with the Head of Care to ensure the home's strategic objectives are met and that the children's needs are met on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure the home operates efficiently and effectively.
- Contribute to the development of the home's quality standards and ensure that they are implemented and maintained.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, including local authorities, health services, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that the home's safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and maintained, and that all staff are trained to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports, risk assessments, and quality assurance reports.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent qualification.
- Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Current driving license, required due to the nature of the job role.
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and provide satisfactory references.
- DBS disclosure expense will be met by the employer.
- 2+ years of experience working with young people in Residential Care.
- Experience as a Registered Manager or a Senior role in a Children's home.
- Previous experience in a role requiring supervision and management of care staff.
- Experience of managing and working with young people with complex behavioral issues.
- Highly experienced, passionate individual who has a proven track record of providing the highest quality care for the young people as well as providing the staff with a high level of aspirational leadership and management.
- Can demonstrate an extensive knowledge and understanding of all current regulations related to Residential Childcare and has the ability to effectively apply these to the day-to-day running of the home.
- Can demonstrate the ability to provide the young people, staff, and other stakeholders with clear leadership and high aspirations.
- Someone with passion and drive to develop a staff team that is robust and resilient.
- An individual who can demonstrate their passion to safeguard and promote the needs of young people with complex and challenging behavior.
- Be able to demonstrate auditing, managing budgets, and monitoring skills.
- Can evidence knowledge of Reg 44 and Reg 45 reporting.
- Can demonstrate how to develop a staff team to ensure they have clear vision and goals.
- Has a good working knowledge of Children's homes regulations.
- Salary Range - £45k-£60k.
- Annual leave – 28 days + Bank Holidays.
