We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Deputy Dean of School, providing leadership and management to the Schools of Law and Education. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic development of the school, driving excellence in learning and teaching, research, and student experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Developing and implementing school plans to achieve the highest standards of academic excellence
  • Leading the operationalisation of the school's strategic plans, with executive oversight responsibility for key functions
  • Collaborating with the Dean and Associate Deans to drive academic leadership and management
  • Building relationships with external organisations to support the school's strategic objectives

Requirements

  • Proven senior level management and leadership skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams
  • Knowledge and expertise within one of the school's discipline areas, with a comprehensive understanding of UK Higher Education regulation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and harness the talent of others
  • Highly competent in analysing multiple sources of data to inform evidence-based decision making
  • Experience of financial and resource management, with a strong understanding of strategic planning and implementation

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject to the school's disciplinary areas
  • Doctorate in a relevant subject, or substantial industrial or academic experience
  • Commitment to Principal Fellowship of Advance HE within 2 years of appointment
