About the Role

Quantum Mortgages, a leading specialist Buy to Let lender, is seeking an experienced Buy to Let Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team. As a Buy to Let Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in underwriting new complex BTL applications, valuation reports, and approving fully packaged cases for offer.

Main Responsibilities
  • Loan Processing and Underwriting: Process and underwrite new loans in line with credit policy, responsible lending policy, and underwriting manual.
  • Borrower Assessment: Assess borrower creditworthiness and underwrite new mortgage applications from initial receipt through to completion.
  • Business Improvement: Participate and contribute to ongoing business improvement activity.
  • Customer Service: Deliver a first-class proactive customer service through inbound and outbound communication to all case stakeholders, including introducers, service suppliers, reference providers, and occasionally applicants.
  • Product Knowledge: Build a thorough understanding of the products offered by the Firm, its lending strategy, credit risk policies, and processes.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure a high level of accuracy of data entry and ongoing record keeping.
  • Team Support: Support the processing team and underwriting peer group in delivering an excellent, compliant service with prompt and accurate decisions at each stage of the process.
Requirements
  • Underwriting Experience: A current or recent Underwriting Mandate within specialist Buy to Let.
  • Mortgage Process Knowledge: A good understanding of the mortgage process.
  • Pressure Management: Knowledge of working under pressure to tight deadlines - a 'can do' attitude.
  • Record Management: Record/file management experience.
  • Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate ever-changing business needs.
