Job Title: Director of Nursing

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will provide inspirational leadership to our nursing staff and AHPs, championing a culture of quality improvement, research, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong and effective clinical leadership, improving and sustaining clinical practices and standards across all services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Trust Chief Nurse and other nursing and AHP colleagues to anticipate and interpret national and regional policy.
  • Lead the implementation of changes to practice, ensuring alignment with the objectives of MFT.
  • Develop and implement transformation programmes, including service change, operational process improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Build and develop high-performing multi-disciplinary teams, increasing staff engagement and innovation.

Person Specification:

  • First-level Registered Nurse.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Masters-level degree in health-related subject or equivalent.
  • Evidence of recent and relevant continuous professional development.

Desirable:

  • Doctorate-level degree in health-related subject.
  • Formal management or leadership qualification.

  • Highly motivated, hard-working, and self-confident individual with a drive to deliver and commitment to excellence across all areas.
