Position: Domestic Housekeeping Assistant

Overview of Responsibilities:
- Execute cleaning duties across various settings.

Work under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, following established protocols to uphold the facility's overall cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency, while demonstrating initiative within defined parameters.

Work Location:
- Various locations

Employment Type:
- Temporary with potential for ongoing engagement

Working Hours:
- 5 days a week, shifts scheduled between Monday and Sunday, from 7am to 7pm

Compensation Structure:

Weekday Rates:
- £12.82 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay

Weekend Rates:
- Saturday: £14.89 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay
- Sunday: £16.10 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sustaining the cleanliness of the facility in accordance with established guidelines.

Adhere to Infection Control protocols to ensure and maintain a hygienic environment.

Surpass the minimum standards set forth in the National Cleaning Standards 2021 to fulfill the expectations of all stakeholders.

Daily Tasks Include:
- Restocking supplies following proper rotation.

- Disposing of waste appropriately.

- Cleaning restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and floors.

- Thoroughly dusting and sanitizing restroom stalls.

- Mopping hard surfaces, particularly during inclement weather or upon request.

- Keeping linen storage areas organized and clean.

- Managing clinical and domestic waste, replacing bin liners, and cleaning bins as necessary.

- Conducting comprehensive cleaning of office spaces, including spot checks and follow-ups.

- Periodically cleaning internal glass surfaces throughout the day.

Weekly Duties:

- Dusting fixtures and fittings in all areas.

- Moving and deep cleaning furniture as required.

Monthly Responsibilities:

- Dusting high areas.

Ensure safety by utilizing appropriate signage, cordoning off areas, and preventing access to restricted zones.

- Utilize chemicals strictly as per COSHH data sheets, ensuring they are secured when not in use.

- Regularly clean equipment throughout the shift and report any malfunctions.

Follow infection prevention and control measures to avoid cross-contamination, adhering to the color-coding policy.

- Sign in and out for keys.

- Dispose of refuse and glass properly.

- Operate all equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

- Conduct risk assessments for manual handling tasks as per organizational policy.

- Maintain records related to property safety.

- Order replacement supplies electronically as directed.

- Complete all departmental documentation procedures.

- Use personal judgment and guidance from clinical staff to clean patient areas with minimal disruption to care services.
