Lead the Way in Civil Engineering
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is seeking a highly skilled Regional Director to drive the success of our Northern Ireland region. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for delivering our vision, core purpose, and objectives in the region, ensuring the effective implementation of our strategic plan.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership position that requires a strong focus on building relationships, influencing decision-makers, and promoting civil engineering within Northern Ireland. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including government, industry bodies, and academia, to develop and implement strategies that raise awareness of civil engineering and the ICE's role in infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the ICE Plan for Northern Ireland, focusing on member engagement, knowledge sharing, and infrastructure policy and external affairs.
- Oversee the delivery of regional events and activities, ensuring they are high-quality and meet member needs.
- Collaborate with other ICE regions and external bodies to share best practices.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Regional Support Team (RST) and the NI Committee.
- Motivate and engage volunteers to contribute to the delivery of the ICE Plan.
- Progress and implement professional development plans for RST staff.
- Prepare and manage the regional budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor and report on financial performance.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of managing a team and working with volunteers.
- Experience in business planning, budgeting, and financial management.
- Excellent relationship building, communication, and influencing skills at a senior level.
- Experience in project management and event delivery.
- Experience of interaction with infrastructure stakeholders.
- Passion for civil and infrastructure engineering and a commitment to promoting the profession.
